Mike Dunleavy on Thursday 4th of February announced that he has resigned from the post of Head Coach of The Clippers. It came as a bolt from the blue to both the players of Clippers as well as to the people. To fill his gap, the assistant coach Kim Hughes has been asked to assume the role of the Head Coach for the remaining part of the season. However Dunleavy would continue to remain as the General Manager of The Clippers till the year 2011.

The resignation came in after Clippers lost on Wednesday’s match with Atlanta by 2-6. This has been the worst performance of Clippers in this season. Frustrated with the team’s performance, he considered it wise to quit from the post of Head Coach. Dunleavy assumed the post of Head Coach of Clippers in the year 2003 till present. Dunleavy further says that he has some personal commitments now and would work towards some of his personal opportunities and thinks that he would fully utilize it. With just 32 games left in this season, it all depends upon Kim Hughes to make Clippers return to the season.
