The seven time winner of Tour de France Alberto Contador when returned to the tour Podium on Sunday his fans were eagerly waiting for him. His family was already there. His teammate and his rival were also present. Mr. Contador was wearing the hard won and coveted jersey.
Contador traveled the Champs-Elysees to win the Tour for the second time on Sunday after three weeks of racing of 2,141 miles. He kept away the challenges in the mountains, and did extremely well in the two time trials. He won the pivotal race against the clock in the 18th stage and then won the first Alpine stage. Alberto Contador had completed his race in 85hr and 48 min and 35 sec. He is from Spain and his team name is Astana.
Andy Schleck from Luxembourg was the toughest rival of Contador in the mountains. He came in the second position. Lance Armstrong had got the third position.
In 2008 Tour de France winners were Carlos Sastre, Cadel Evans and Bernhard Kohl. Carlos Sastre got the first place and had completed the race in 87 hour and 52 min and 52 sec. He is also from Spain. Cadel Evans and Bernhard Kohl had taken the second and the third position respectively.
